Padres DH Matt Carpenter had a big day at the dish Sunday, leading San Diego to a 7-5 win over Arizona. He finished 3-for-3 with a home run, five RBI and two doubles.
Fantasy Impact:
Carpenter went yard for the third time on the season, despite not playing every day. He is only hitting .238 but has walked nine times with only 42 official at-bats, good enough for a .377 OBP. The veteran has always shown some pop and could provide some sneaky mixed league value depending on his playing time. Carpenter is certainly worth keeping an eye on.
