Joe Kelly (shoulder) considering future in MLB

by Bruno Mulé | Thu, Feb 20th 10:07am EST

Joe Kelly said on the Baseball Isn't Boring podcast that his right shoulder is "not 100 percent yet" as he continues his throwing program in hopes of pitching in 2025. The 36-year-old reliever, who first suffered the injury last August, remains optimistic about returning but acknowledged that retirement is a possibility if his shoulder doesn’t fully recover.

Fantasy Impact:

Kelly has previously stated that he would only pitch for the Dodgers, though it’s unclear if he still holds that stance. His availability for the season remains uncertain, making him a risky fantasy option. If healthy, he could provide bullpen depth, but for now, fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach regarding his status.
