A.J. Puk's elbow injury will not require surgery, but he will be shut down for the next 2-3 weeks to allow for rest and recovery. Following this period, he will be reassessed to determine the next steps in his recovery. (Steve Gilbert on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
This is positive news for Puk, especially after he sought a second opinion following an MRI on April 21. A clearer timeline for his return should emerge once he is reassessed in 2-3 weeks. In the meantime, Justin Martinez is expected to handle the majority of save opportunities for the Arizona Diamondbacks while Puk is sidelined.
