Jake McCarthy has been traded from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Colorado Rockies in exchange for minor league pitching prospect, Josh Grosz. (Bob Nightengale on X)

Fantasy Impact:

McCarthy, a former first round pick by the Diamondbacks in 2018, struggled in his fifth year with Arizona last season as he batted just .204 in 222 plate appearances. In five seasons in the desert, McCarthy hit .260 with 24 home runs and 83 stolen bases in 431 career games. The speedy outfielder should have an everyday role in the Colorado lineup and has the potential to hit 10-15 home runs and swipe 30-35 bags with a starting job.
