Mervis was designated for assignment after posting a .175/.254/.383 slash line over 134 plate appearances and has been outrighted to Triple-A Jacksonville. Having cleared waivers, he will now look to re-establish himself at the Triple-A level. This opportunity allows him to refine his approach at the plate and address the struggles he faced in the majors. Mervis will work to force his way back onto the 40-man roster and earn another big-league opportunity.
