Roberts will take the roster spot of right-hander Porter Hodge who was sent to the injured list with a right shoulder impingement on Wednesday. Roberts has posted a 5.40 ERA in nine appearances with the Cubs this season and a 2.74 ERA in 20 appearances with Iowa.
