The St. Louis Cardinals are hopeful that Willson Contreras' right foot soreness improves enough for him to return to the lineup on Friday against the New York Yankees. (MLB.com)

After getting hit by a pitch on Tuesday night, Willson Contreras's X-rays on his right foot came back negative. He had Wednesday off, and with the Cardinals off on Thursday, the team is hopeful the soreness will subside and he will be able to return to the lineup on Friday.
