Amaya, who landed on the injured list with a left ankle sprain on August 14, has already resumed light activity. Cubs manager Craig Counsell said he is "optimistic" that Amaya can return this season. While he is sidelined, Carson Kelly will continue to serve as the Cubs' starting catcher.
