The Chicago White Sox activated Owen White from the 15-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte. (Jack Ankony on Twitter)

White has been optioned to the minors after a stint on the injured list for a right hip impingement, which sidelined him since August 19. White Sox manager Will Venable stated on Friday that White is an option to replace Martin Perez in the starting rotation, who was placed on the injured list with a shoulder injury on Friday.
