Tylor Megill is traveling to Los Angeles for a consultation on Tommy John surgery, according to New York Mets manager Carlos Mendoza. (MLB.com)

After experiencing continued forearm tightness during a September 7 start with Triple-A Syracuse, Megill was shut down from throwing. He has been on the injured list since June 17 with a right elbow sprain, and the new discomfort led to his consultation for Tommy John surgery.
