Justyn-Henry Malloy has been traded to the Tampa Bay Rays for cash considerations. Malloy was designed for assignment last month to make room for Kyle FInnegan. Meanwhile, the Rays do not need to make a corresponding roster move with two openings on their 40-man roster. (Marc Topkin on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Malloy, a sixth-round pick by the Braves in the 2021 MLB Draft, was traded by Atlanta to Detroit in 2022. Malloy played parts of two seasons with the Tigers, batting .209 in 357 career plate appearances. Malloy, a righthanded-hitting outfielder, has a little pop as he hit eight home runs in 230 plate appearances in 2024. Malloy, who is a career .286 hitter in the minors with 61 home runs in five seasons, gives the Rays a right-handed hitting option in the outfield.
