Fantasy Impact:

Cabrera heads to Chicago where he will serve as a top-of-the-rotation arm for the Cubs. The righthander enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2025 by pitching a career-high 137.2 with a strong 3.53 ERA for the Marlins. He also had a career-low 8.3% walk rate and posted a strikeout rate of 25.8%. Cabrera's sinker allowed him to post a 46.6% ground ball rate a season ago. The Cubs are certainly paying a steep price to get Cabrera, who has had injury history and has only pitched more than 100 innings in a season once. But, the righthander still has three years of control left on his contract and he now joins a formidable rotation that also includes Cade Horton, Matthew Boyd, Shota Imanaga, and Jameson Taillon.
