Triston Casas and Red Sox avoid arbitration

by David Leisering | Red Sox Correspondent | Mon, Jan 12th 10:03am EST

Triston Casas and the Boston Red Sox avoided arbitration by agreeing to a reported $1.61 million contract in 2026. (Chris Cotillo on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Casas struggled last season with the Red Sox, batting just .182 with three home runs in 112 plate appearances before suffering a season-ending knee injury. Casas finished third in AL Rookie of the Year voting in 2023 after hitting .263 with 24 home runs. He's hoping to be ready for spring training, but the acquisition of Willson Contreras is a big hit to his path to playing time in Boston. He does have options remaining, so he could potentially start the season in Triple-A Worcester.
