Reid Detmers 'a lock' for starting rotation

Angels left-hander Reid Detmers is "a lock" for the team's starting rotation, according to manager Kurt Suzuki. (Rhett Bollinger on Twitter)

Suzuki named Detmers, along with Yusei Kikuchi and Jose Soriano, as rotation locks, while adding Grayson Rodriguez and Alek Manoah would need to prove themselves in order to earn a spot. While he has served as a starter in the past with mixed results, the 26-year-old spent the 2025 season exclusively in the Angels' bullpen, posting a 3.96 ERA across 61 appearances.
