Ryan Harbin (shoulder) has been shut down from throwing activities due to an injury to his teres major. He will be re-evaluated in approximately six weeks. (Jason Mackey on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Harbin, who was added to the Pirates' 40-man roster in November, was likely a longshot to make the Opening Day roster regardless. The righthander, who has yet to make his major league debut, pitched at three different levels last season and combined for a 4.69 ERA in 63.1 innings. The 24-year-old struck out a whopping 92 batters, but also walked 46 in those 63.1 innings. He may end up spending the year in Triple-A Indianapolis to work on his command, but he is a name to watch in the Pirates' bullpen in the near future.
