Starling Marte's wait in free agency is over as he has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Kansas City Royals. The deal will be official once Marte passes his physical. (Mark Feinsand on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Marte played in 98 games for the Mets last season and batted .270 with nine home runs and seven stolen bases. His Mets' tenure was marred by injuries as he played a total of 396 games over a four-year span. In fact, Marte has not played in more than 120 games in a season since his final year in Pittsburgh in 2019. He is a career .285 hitter with 1,639 hits, 163 home runs, and 361 stolen bases in 1,530 games at the big league level. When healthy, Marte served as New York's designated hitter last season. The Royals are fairly deep at DH and in the outfield, so it remains to be seen how extensive a role Marte will have in 2026.
