Rainer (shoulder) underwent surgery in June to address a dislocated right shoulder. Before the injury ended his season last summer, he hit .294/.383/.452 with five home runs, nine stolen bases and a 13.1 percent walk rate across 149 plate appearances at Single-A Lakeland. (Jonathan Mayo)

Fantasy Impact:

Hitting activities are now permitted without restrictions. Monday brought an appearance as the designated hitter in a minor-league game on the back fields at Tigers camp. Defensive clearance has not been granted. Regular designated hitter starts could begin when the minor-league season opens later this month.
