Taylor Walls (oblique) to open season on 10-day IL
by Bruno Mulé | Rays Correspondent | Thu, Mar 19th 11:18am EDT
Walls had been slated to begin the year as Tampa Bay's starting shortstop, carrying a career .195/.286/.298 line across 1,560 plate appearances into the role. A strained right oblique will instead land him on the 10-day injured list to open the season. (Marc Topkin)
Fantasy Impact:
The injury opens the door for Carson Williams to take over at shortstop, a notable reversal after Williams had been sent to Triple-A Durham earlier this week.
