Grayson Rodriguez (arm) dealing with 'dead arm'

Grayson Rodriguez (arm) is dealing with a 'dead arm' according to Angels' manager, Kurt Suzuki. It's possible that the righthander could be an IL candidate to begin the season. (Rhett Bollinger on X)
Fantasy Impact:
It doesn't appear to be a major issue at the moment as Rodriguez is still throwing and has not been shut down. However, he will be slowed down and, with Opening Day a week away, the Angels will closely monitor his situation - especially given his health concerns in recent history. The righthander has not made a start in the majors since July 31, 2024 as he dealt primarily with shoulder issues. Rodriguez then underwent elbow debridement surgery in August of last year before being shipped to Los Angeles from Baltimore in a one-for-one deal for Taylor Ward. If Rodriguez is forced to miss time, it gives the Angels' starting rotation even more question marks. Rodriguez is projected to join Jose Soriano, Yusei Kikuchi, Reid Detmers, and Alek Manoah as the starting five with Jack Kochanowicz likely the next in line. Stay tuned.
