Rhys Hoskins makes Guardians' Opening Day roster

Rhys Hoskins has made the Guardians' Opening Day roster. He signed a minor league deal with Cleveland in February and was a non-roster invite to spring training. (Jon Heyman on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Hoskins went just 7-for-33 (.212) during the spring, but belted three home runs and drove in eight runs. The veteran slugger spent his first six seasons with the Phillies before missing all of 2023 with an injury. He ended up in Milwaukee in 2024 and 2025 and struggled in his two seasons there, combining for a .223 average with 38 home runs in 221 games. All told, he is a .238 hitter with 186 home runs and an .820 OPS in 888 career games. Hoskins will likely be Cleveland's everyday designated hitter and should hit towards the middle of the lineup. While he won't hit for a high average, he's certainly capable of 25-30 home runs and 80-plus RBI if he stays healthy.
