Zac Gallen suffers loss to Dodgers on Opening Day

by David Leisering | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Thu, Mar 26th 11:48pm EDT

Zac Gallen was saddled with the loss on Thursday night after allowing four runs on five hits in four innings in Arizona's 8-2 loss to the Dodgers. He walked two and struck out two.

Fantasy Impact:

Gallen was brilliant through four innings, allowing only a hit and a walk as the Diamondbacks jumped out to a 2-0 lead. However, the first five batters reached base against the righthander in the fifth on back-to-back singles, a three-run homer by Andy Pages, another single, and finally a walk. Gallen is coming off, arguably, the worst season of his career as he went 13-15 with a 4.83 ERA in 2025. It was his fourth consecutive Opening Day start for the Diamondbacks and he'll look to bounce back in his next start, tentatively scheduled for a home contest against the Tigers next week.
