Jonathan Aranda hits solo homer on Opening Day
by Nicholas Rodriguez | Rays Correspondent | Fri, Mar 27th 3:01am EDT
Jonathan Aranda went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and two RBI in Thursday’s 9-7 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Fantasy Impact:
The left-handed-hitting Aranda batted third in the Tampa Bay Rays’ Opening Day lineup against southpaw Matthew Liberatore, an encouraging sign he can remain in the heart of the order regardless of matchup. His solo home run came in the fifth inning off Liberatore and traveled 405 feet. He turned in a strong Opening Day performance and is coming off an impressive .316/.393/.489 slash line with 14 home runs across 106 games in 2025, making him an intriguing waiver wire option for teams in need of a first baseman, especially given his lineup spot on Thursday.
