Cade Smith Nails Down First Save
by Matthew Adam | Guardians Correspondent | Fri, Mar 27th 6:32am EDT
Cade Smith picked up his first save of the season on Opening Day. He struck out one batter in a scoreless outing to earn the save in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Mariners.
Fantasy Impact:
Smith needed just 13 pitches to send the Mariners down in order to preserve the Guardians' Opening Day victory. Smith will serve as Cleveland's primary closer and should be one of the better fantasy sources for saves and relief-pitcher strikeouts this season.
