Curtis Mead traded to Nationals
by David Leisering | Nationals Correspondent | Sat, Mar 28th 8:42pm EDT
Infielder Curtis Mead has been traded from the Chicago White Sox to the Washington Nationals in exchange for catcher, Boston Smith. (Washington Nationals on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Mead was designated for assignment by the White Sox on Wednesday and now heads to Washington for a fresh start. The infielder hit .233 with a pair of home runs during the spring and is a career .238 hitter with five home runs and seven stolen bases in 152 big league games. He is capable of playing multiple infield positions and, with no minor league options remaining, will need a spot opened for him on the 26-man active roster. He posted a .908 OPS at Triple-A last season and isn't far removed from being a top prospect in the Rays' organization.
