Paul Sewald earns second save in as many days Tuesday
by David Leisering | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Wed, Apr 1st 6:57am EDT
Paul Sewald struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning for his second save in as many days as Arizona completed a come-from-behind, 7-5, win over Detroit on Tuesday.
Fantasy Impact:
Sewald needed just 13 pitches to strike out Kerry Carpenter, Spencer Torkelson, and Zach McKinstry in the ninth inning. The veteran righthander has now appeared in three games this season, pitching 2.1 perfect innings thus far. He saved a career-high 34 games between Seattle and Arizona in 2023 and could potentially take a run at that number in 2026.
