Brandon Williamson roughed up in first start of the season Tuesday
by Brenton Kemp | Reds Correspondent | Wed, Apr 1st 11:47am EDT
Reds left-hander Brandon Williamson was touched up for six earned runs in just 4 2/3 innings while taking the loss on Tuesday against the visiting Pirates.
Fantasy Impact:
Williamson gave up three home runs on the evening as part of six hits to go along with two walks. He struck out three. While his season is off to a tough start, it's worth noting that Williamson has now pitched all of 19 big league innings since the beginning of the 2024 season due to shoulder surgery and eventually, Tommy John surgery. The 27-year-old debuted with a 4.46 ERA in 23 starts for the Reds in 2023 and will likely need some time to find his footing in the big leagues once again.
