Tomoyuki Sugano earns first win of season Sunday

by David Leisering | Rockies Correspondent | Sun, Apr 5th 10:55pm EDT

Tomoyuki Sugano pitched six strong innings on Sunday, allowing only a run on four hits with one walk and five strikeouts to lift the Rockies to a 4-1 win over the Phillies.

Fantasy Impact:

Sugano (1-0) earned his first win in a Colorado uniform on Sunday after settling on a no-decision in his first start. The only mistake Sugano made came off the bat of Adolis Garcia, who hit a solo home run in the top of the second inning. Sugano, who went 10-10 with a 4.64 ERA with Baltimore last season, has posted a 1.69 ERA through two starts this season. He has a 9:3 K:BB ratio and has limited opponents to a .158 average. Sugano is slated to start again Friday in San Diego.
