Matt Shaw goes deep for first time in 2026

by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Mon, Apr 6th 12:52am EDT

Matt Shaw went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, but the Cubs dropped a 6-5 decision to the Guardians in game two of Sunday's doubleheader.

Fantasy Impact:

Shaw took Cleveland starter, Parker Messick, deep to lead off the top of the third inning for his first home run of the season. Shaw hit 13 home runs in 126 games as a rookie last season and is looking to surpass that total in 2026. So far, Shaw has appeared in eight of Chicago's nine games and he is off to a 5-for-23 (.217) start to the season.
