Ian Happ hits fourth home run of season Sunday

by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Mon, Apr 6th 1:02am EDT

Ian Happ went 2-for-5, including a solo home run, and drove in a pair during Chicago's 6-5 loss to Cleveland in game two of Sunday's doubleheader.

Fantasy Impact:

Happ connected on an offering from Cleveland reliever, Shawn Armstrong, in the eighth inning for his fourth home run of the season. Happ is now tied with Atlanta's Drake Baldwin and Pittsburgh's Oneil Cruz for the National League lead in homers. The Cubs' outfielder is hitting just .189 (7-for-37) to begin the season with five of his seven hits (one double, four home runs) going for extra bases. He has struck out an NL-leading 18 times. Expect decent power numbers from Happ, but he's a career .247 hitter, so don't expect much higher than that in 2026.
