Luke Williams selected to major league roster

by David Leisering | Braves Correspondent | Sat, Apr 11th 3:18pm EDT

Luke Williams had his contract selected by the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. The utilityman will be on the active roster while Michael Harris II is on the paternity list. Lefthander Danny Young was placed on the 60-day IL to make room for Williams on the 40-man roster. (Atlanta Braves on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Williams will fill a depth role while Harris II is out of action, but likely won't see much playing time over the next few days. The veteran has played parts of three seasons with the Braves and has hit just .151 in 95 plate appearances in Atlanta. He is, however, 11-for-11 in stolen bases and could be used as a defensive replacement/pinch-runner over the next few games. Williams is out of options so he will likely be designated for assignment once Harris II returns.
