Jacob Lopez allowed five earned runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out five over five innings in Saturday's 11-6 win over the Mets.

Lopez has struggled with command issues on the mound to begin the season, allowing three or more earned runs and walking three or more batters in each of his three starts. The left-hander has been one of many underwhelming options in the Athletics rotation early in the season for manager Mark Kotsay, posting a 7.43 ERA and 2.18 WHIP with a 1-1 record and 0.85 K/BB ratio across three starts.
