Jameson Taillon struggles early in no-decision Sunday

by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Mon, Apr 13th 1:15am EDT

Jameson Taillon was tagged for six runs on six hits - including three home runs - in six innings as the Cubs came-from-behind to defeat the Pirates, 7-6, on Sunday. Taillon walked two and struck out 10.

Fantasy Impact:

Taillon allowed five runs over the first two innings, but settled in and allowed just one more run over his final four innings. The righthander did allow three home runs - two by Brandon Lowe and one by Oneil Cruz - in his six innings of work, but he did strike out 10 batters for the first time since striking out 10 Mets on June 22, 2024. After Lowe got him for a grand slam in the second, Taillon retired eight straight batters before Lowe tagged him again in the fifth for a solo shot. He then retired the final five batters he faced. Taillon is 0-1 with a 4.86 ERA in three starts, striking out 17 batters in 16.2 innings. He's lined up for his next outing to come against the Mets on Saturday.
