Varland locks down first save in efficient outing

Gus Varland struck out one batter in a scoreless appearance to earn the save in Sunday's 8-6 win over the Brewers.
Fantasy Impact:
He now has a 5.40 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with a one save through five appearances. Varland was called upon after Clayton Beeter was unavailable after pitching in the first two games of the series. Varland may have earned the trust of the coaching staff to be the second in line for save chances.
