Ranger Suarez dominates Tigers, takes tough-luck no-decision Friday

by Brenton Kemp | Red Sox Correspondent | Sat, Apr 18th 11:05am EDT

Red Sox left-hander Rangers Suarez threw eight scoreless innings on Friday against the Tigers, but ended up taking a no-decision in an eventual 1-0 win in 10 innings.

Fantasy Impact:

It was a pitcher's duel on Friday at Fenway as Suarez and Tigers right-hander Casey Mize both pitched scoreless outings. For his part, Suarez tossed eight shutout frames, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out four. The southpaw has now pitched 14 scoreless innings over his last two starts after allowing eight earned runs in 8 1/3 innings in two starts to begin his season. Suarez will carry a much-improved 3.22 ERA into his next scheduled start on Wednesday against the Yankees.
