Michael Soroka goes seven strong to improve to 4-0 Friday
by David Leisering | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Sat, Apr 18th 5:28pm EDT
Michael Soroka allowed two runs on five hits, did not walk a batter, and struck out five in seven innings on Friday as the Diamondbacks defeated the Blue Jays, 6-3.
Fantasy Impact:
Soroka improved to 4-0 on the year with another strong outing as he went a season-long seven innings for his fourth win in four starts. The only real mistake he made was allowing a one-out home run to Myles Straw in the top of the sixth inning as the Blue Jays cut the lead to 3-2. Given the injuries and the effort he had to put in just to get back to the majors makes him a great early-season story. He has pitched to a 2.78 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP and ranks tied for sixth in the National League with 28 strikeouts in 22.2 innings. Soroka is slated to face the White Sox in his next time out on Thursday.
