Tommy Pham has been designated for assignment by the New York Mets. (Will Sammon on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Pham signed a minor league contract on March 27 and joined the big league club on April 13. However, things could not have gone worse for Pham at the plate as he went 0-for-13 with seven strikeouts in nine games. The 38-year-old could be claimed by another team or he could accept his outright assignment to stay in the Mets' organization in an attempt to try to get back to New York. Pham didn't get a spring training, so it's quite possible that, because of his late signing, he just wasn't ready for big league pitching when he was called-up.
