Keider Montero solid in no-decision versus Reds Sunday
by Brenton Kemp | Tigers Correspondent | Mon, Apr 27th 11:42am EDT
Tigers right-hander Keider Montero pitched five innings of three-run ball in a no-decision Sunday against the Reds.
Fantasy Impact:
Considering the Reds had battered Tigers pitching for nine runs in each of the first two games of the series, Montero's three runs allowed in five innings is a satisfactory outing. The 25-year-old yielded five hits, albeit two of which went for homers, and a pair of walks while striking out five. Sitting in for the injured Justin Verlander, Montero has held his own with a 4.00 ERA and 23 strikeouts against just five walks in 27 innings. He lines up to take on the Rangers at home on Saturday.
