Giancarlo Stanton (calf) is heading to the 10-day injured list with a low-grade strain to his right calf, according to Yankees' manager, Aaron Boone. (MLB on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Stanton hits the injured list on Monday after coming up limp running the bases on Friday. With it being announced as a "low-grade" strain, the club isn't anticipating an extended stay on the injured list. The veteran slugger is slashing .256/.302/.422 with three home runs in 96 plate appearances this season. Stanton has now required at least one IL stint since the 2018 season and hasn't reached 500 plate appearances in five years. Jasson Dominguez was called up on Sunday and served as the DH on Monday. He'll likely continue to fill the role while Stanton is on the shelf.
