Pete Fairbanks experienced an “unusual sensation” in his right thumb during Monday’s 5-4 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Fairbanks entered the ninth inning with a 4-2 lead but ran into trouble, issuing two walks to open the frame before Shohei Ohtani hit a ground-rule double.
