Pete Fairbanks suffers thumb injury Monday

by Nicholas Rodriguez | Marlins Correspondent | Tue, Apr 28th 3:42am EDT

Pete Fairbanks experienced an “unusual sensation” in his right thumb during Monday’s 5-4 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Fantasy Impact:

Fairbanks entered the ninth inning with a 4-2 lead but ran into trouble, issuing two walks to open the frame before Shohei Ohtani hit a ground-rule double. He then walked Freddie Freeman and was removed from the game due to the thumb injury. Fairbanks is set to undergo further evaluation to determine the severity of the issue. If he is forced to miss time, Anthony Bender or Calvin Faucher could see opportunities to handle save chances.
