Jose Quintana let down by Rockies' bullpen Friday

by David Leisering | Rockies Correspondent | Sat, May 2nd 10:25am EDT

Jose Quintana allowed one run on five hits in six strong innings on Friday, but the Braves came from behind to defeat the Rockies, 8-6.

Fantasy Impact:

Quintana kept the Braves' offense off the scoreboard until Matt Olson hit a solo home run with one out in the fourth inning. That would be the only run he would allow in six solid innings as he did not walk a batter and struck out three while throwing 85 pitches. Quintana left with a 6-1 lead after six, but the Braves scored seven times in the final three innings to stun the Rockies. The veteran lefthander has pitched to a 1.59 ERA with an 8:2 K:BB ratio over his last two starts, spanning 11.1 innings. He'll take a 1-2 record, a 4.05 ERA, and a 1.36 WHIP into his next start against the Mets on Wednesday.
