Bubba Chandler struggles with command Tuesday
by David Leisering | Pirates Correspondent | Wed, May 6th 9:50am EDT
Bubba Chandler allowed only two runs on two hits in five innings, but walked six and struck out four as the Pirates dropped a 9-0 decision to the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Fantasy Impact:
Chandler dropped to 1-4 on the season as his command issues continued on Tuesday. The young righthander walked six batters in a start for the second time and has now issued at least four free passes in four of his seven starts this season. After walking four batters in 31.1 innings with the Pirates last year, Chandler has now issued 26 walks in 34 innings this season. He has a 4.76 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP and is tentatively scheduled to take on the Giants in San Francisco on Sunday. But, the control problems are a big concern and a return to Triple-A to work out some kinks is not completely out of the question.
