by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Fri, May 8th 10:10am EDT
Daniel Palencia struck out the only batter he faced on Thursday to earn his second save of the season as the Cubs defeated the Reds, 8-3.
Fantasy Impact:
Palencia was summoned from the bullpen with the bases loaded and two outs in the ninth as Gavin Hollowell struggled to close out the Reds. The Cubs' closer struck out pinch-hitter Nathaniel Lowe on a challenged called strike three that was upheld to record his second save of the season. Palencia, who spent a couple of weeks on the IL, has not been scored upon in seven appearances this season and has a 6:2 K:BB ratio in 6.1 innings of work.
