Alek Manoah tosses five scoreless innings Monday
by David Leisering | Angels Correspondent | Mon, May 11th 11:49pm EDT
Alek Manoah pitched five scoreless innings in a bulk relief role on Monday during the Angels' 7-2 loss to the Guardians.
Fantasy Impact:
It was, by no means, a perfect outing for Manoah as he walked five batters and struck out only two in his five innings. The righthander allowed only two hits, but needed 91 pitches to get through five frames and the five walks tied for the third-most he's allowed in a game in his career. Manoah has pitched six scoreless innings in his first two outings of the season, but does have a 3:5 K:BB ratio. Outside of Jose Soriano, the Angels' starting rotation has been inconsistent so, Monday's promising outing by Manoah may have earned him a spot in the starting five for the short term.
