Steven Matz struggles again Tuesday
by Nicholas Rodriguez | Rays Correspondent | Wed, Jun 3rd 3:08am EDT
Steven Matz allowed five runs on six hits and no walks while striking out two across 1.2 innings in Tuesday's 6-0 loss to the Detroit Tigers.
Fantasy Impact:
Matz got off to a rough start, surrendering a leadoff home run to Gleyber Torres before Matt Vierling followed with a triple and later scored on a sacrifice fly. He escaped the first inning but couldn't make it through the second, allowing four extra-base hits in the frame, including a two-run homer by Wenceel Perez, before being pulled from the game. Matz has now allowed 11 earned runs over his last two starts, raising his season ERA to 5.48. Given his recent struggles, he's difficult to trust in fantasy leagues moving forward.
