Carmen Mlodzinski pitched the final four innings on Thursday and allowed one run on four hits while striking out three to preserve a 5-1 Pirates' victory over Houston.

Making his first appearance since moving to the bullpen, Mlodzinski came on in relief of Jared Jones and pitched four strong innings to earn his second career save - first since 2023. The only mistake Mlodzinski made was a sixth-inning home run by Isaac Paredes. In 12 appearances this season (nine starts), Mlodzinski is 4-3 with a 3.66 ERA and a 49:20 K:BB ratio in 59 innings.
