Merrill Kelly roughed up Friday in loss to Nationals

by David Leisering | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Sat, Jun 6th 8:33am EDT

Merrill Kelly allowed seven runs on six hits, walked three, struck out four, and coughed up three home runs as the Diamondbacks were routed by the Nationals on Friday.

Fantasy Impact:

Kelly entered Friday's contest having allowed three runs or fewer in five consecutive starts dating back to May 9. However, the Nationals jumped on the righthander for two runs in the first, four in the third, and another in the fifth. He gave up home runs to Luis Garcia, Jr., James Wood, and Daylen Lile and has now allowed 13 homers on the year - five in his last two starts. Kelly is 5-4 with a 5.71 ERA and a disappointing 37:25 K:BB ratio through 10 starts this season. He's scheduled for a road start against the Marlins on Thursday.
