Rhett Lowder uneven in short outing Sunday against Cardinals
by Brenton Kemp | Reds Correspondent | Mon, Jun 8th 5:03pm EDT
Reds right-hander Rhett Lowder pitched three scoreless innings while walking five in a no-decision on Sunday against the Cardinals.
Fantasy Impact:
After returning from the IL due to a shoulder injury, Lowder needed 70 pitches to get through three innings. Only 34 of those 70 pitches went for strikes as Lowder walked five of the 16 hitters he faced on the afternoon. It was a miracle that none of those walks came back to haunt him, as his 31:23 K:BB on the season leaves plenty to be desired. He will take a 5.01 ERA into his next start, which is scheduled for next weekend at home against the D-backs.
