Matt McLain swipes trio of bags in win over Padres Tuesday

by Brenton Kemp | Reds Correspondent | Wed, Jun 10th 4:55pm EDT

Reds second baseman Matt McLain went 0-for-3 with two walks, a run scored, and three stolen bases in a 5-3 extra-innings win over the Padres on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact:

McLain was relatively quiet at the plate, but loud on the basepaths on Tuesday. The 26-year-old walked, stole second base, and scored in the second inning before walking and stealing both second and third base in the eighth. The trio of steals gave McLain 10 stolen bases on the season, to go along with his eight home runs in 63 games. He is hitting just .209, but his 12.1% BB% and power/speed combination have kept him fantasy-relevant at a weak second base position.
