Smith has offered mixed results at the plate of late, picking up hits in four of his last nine games. The outfielder continues to struggle through lapses in consistency at the plate for manager Joe Espada, slashing .220 with seven homers, 26 RBI, 27 runs, and eight steals through 69 games.
