Paul Skenes strikes out 10, but suffers loss to Marlins on Sunday

by David Leisering | Pirates Correspondent | Sun, Jun 14th 8:27pm EDT

Paul Skenes allowed just two runs on four hits, walked one, and struck out 10 in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Marlins.

Fantasy Impact:

Skenes has not won a game in more than a month as his last victory came on May 12 against the Rockies. Since then, the righthander is 0-4 with a 4.22 ERA in six starts. Both runs he allowed on Sunday came by way of solo home runs - the second time in 15 starts this season he has allowed more than one home run in an outing. On the plus side, his 10 strikeouts tied a season-high and was the third time in his last seven starts he has hit that number. Skenes is 6-6 with a 2.85 ERA and a 99:16 K:BB ratio across 82 innings this season. He will get the Rockies at Coors Field in his next scheduled start on Saturday.
